Since it's beginnings in 1980, Diversicare has worked hard to earn a reputation as a leader in the long-term care, residential care, and senior's housing industries. Put another way; we work hard to be "better than the rest".
In the early 1990's Diversicare realized that our Company wouldn't continue to get better if we only had a few people trying to make improvements. We realized that what would make us "better" was having many people doing many things, a little bit better, each and every day. We also recognized the necessity of both meeting and exceeding regulatory standards in our industry, if we were to provide the level of quality care and services expected from a leader in our industry.
Continuous Quality Improvement
In 1993, Diversicare initiated a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program to better ensure quality service to its diverse residents.
This program identifies and evaluates all aspects of Diversicare's care and services. This allows the residents and families to measure and realize improvement in service. The CQI process involves operations, employees, residents and their families. CQI represents a management philosophy and way of life for all employees and residents, and empowers everyone to work together as a team to improve services.
In 2001, the National Quality Institute of Canada awarded Diversicare with a trophy of Excellence in Quality. This award establishes Diversicare as a leading organization which develops and maintains high standards.
